The Lotus Flower is a non-governmental organization which empowers vulnerable women and girls so that they are safe, have opportunities to learn, the tools to become financially independent and the freedom to lead change. We provide safe social spaces inside refugee camps and implement projects to help them rebuild their lives and earn a living. We run four women’s centers for the IDP, refugee and host community in Kurdistan

Our centers implement much-needed livelihood training, language courses, computer training, mental health support, fitness and health training, and awareness sessions and advocacy on women's rights and gender-based violence.
We aim to provide the foundation for women to rebuild themselves, their families, and their futures. As local implementers, we work at the grassroots level to get right into the heart of communities, listening to local needs and employing local women to implement the programs. Our fundamental belief is that women and girls are powerful drivers of change, and we provide the support they need to reach their full potential and rebuild their futures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assignment: Music Instructor will work closely with the Outreach & Capacity Building Field Monitor to ensure the quality and effective implementation of Child Protection Programming.
The Music Instructor will be facilitating the PSS activity (music activity) for children and youth from age 5 to 17 in out of camp locations.
Have strong coordination with child protection actors and other services providers and build a strong relation with the community members and assess the psychosocial needs of beneficiaries.
Functions:
Plan and organize daily music activity sessions for both children (from 5 to 12 years old) and youths (from 13 to 17 years old).
Facilitate and provide music sessions on a daily basis.
Monitor the improvement of the children and youth in recreational sessions, knowledge & skills.
Provide help and support for other CP and TLF colleagues for the good implementation of the schedule of sessions
Proactively promote the participation of children with disabilities, marginalized children in project activities.
Ensure that all toys and music equipment are safely stored when not in use by children and youth.
Perform other tasks & functions depending on the required needs and the best interest of children/youth.
Submit the monthly report and data to Outreach & Capacity Building Field Montier
Ensure the collection of data for the activity’s accuracies.
Qualifications:
Excellent experience in music and singing
Good understanding of child protection
Confident communicator, very good coordination and communication skills
Able to work under pressure
Works well in teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well
Good Computer skills: MS Word and Excel
Fluency in Arabic, Kurdish “Kurmanji”
