From September to December 2026, our founder Taban Shoresh OBE will travel across the UK in a micro camper to raise £1 million for The Lotus Flower. She'll be speaking in schools, universities, businesses, and communities - documenting the journey and inviting you to be part of something bigger.

Why now? Why this?

For ten years, The Lotus Flower has supported women and girls affected by conflict, displacement, and violence. We've reached over 115,000 people and built services that communities depend on.

But the funding landscape is changing. Grants are shrinking. Competition is fierce. Costs keep rising. Across the sector, charities are closing programmes and reducing services.

We've survived by securing funding year by year. We've adapted, innovated, stretched every pound. But survival isn't enough anymore. We want to thrive - and more importantly, we want the women and girls we support to know we'll be here for the long term.

Before surgery scheduled for 2027, Taban has set a goal: raise £1 million by the end of 2026.

What £1 million does

£1 million would fund approximately a quarter of The Lotus Flower's core operational costs for the next four years.

It would allow us to:

  • Plan with confidence rather than uncertainty

  • Retain talented staff and expand our reach

  • Invest in innovation and localisation

  • Restore programmes we've had to pause due to funding shortages

  • Ensure women rebuilding after conflict continue to receive support

The tour

Taban will travel across the UK speaking at schools, universities, workplaces, conferences, and community events. She'll be documenting the entire journey - follow along as we build toward £1 million together.
