About Us:
The Lotus Flower is a non-governmental organization which empowers vulnerable women and girls so that they are safe, have opportunities to learn, the tools to become financially independent and the freedom to lead change. We provide safe social spaces inside refugee camps and implement projects to help them rebuild their lives and earn a living. We run four women’s centers for the IDP, refugee and host community in Kurdistan

Our centers implement much-needed livelihood training, language courses, computer training, mental health support, fitness and health training, and awareness sessions and advocacy on women's rights and gender-based violence.
We aim to provide the foundation for women to rebuild themselves, their families, and their futures. As local implementers, we work at the grassroots level to get right into the heart of communities, listening to local needs and employing local women to implement the programs. Our fundamental belief is that women and girls are powerful drivers of change, and we provide the support they need to reach their full potential and rebuild their futures.
Job Overview:
The Community Mobilizer will monitor, support and deliver child protection activities throughout the project implementation. Under the supervision of the center manager, the Community Mobiliser is responsible for engaging closely with children and parents inside the camp, as well as providing direct support to the implementation of child protection activities with the rest of the project staff members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Mobilize communities (leaders, parents, etc.) and disseminate information about the project to promote community support;
· Work with affected communities and establish close relationships with them to better respond to their needs;
· Support contextualization of tools for beneficiary identification and selection for child protection activities;
· Mobilize communities for child protection activities and awareness raising activities/campaigns;
· Coordinate with the community stakeholders to sure that the needs are covered in timely and in line with world Vision quality benchmark;
· Conduct focus group discussion with community members to ensure strong community engagement;
· Ensure that relevant target groups are identified and sensitized of the project activities. Contribute to contextualizing community interventions using community based approaches and DO NO harm principle.
· Work closely with communities’ leaders influential figures and youth people in selecting the children needing the protection invention in target communities.
· Run awareness sessions for children and parents, and support Facilitator colleagues to facilitate awareness sessions, as required.
· Flag child protection issues which need to be addressed through awareness raising activities and support the development of key message and materials.
· Support family visits in the field with mentoring.
· Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
· Commitment to the mission and values of TLF.
· Strong understanding of the situation of the IDP children (girls and boys).
· The ability to think critically and to recommend good solutions to problems.
· Excellent sense of judgment, humor and patience.
· Knowledge of the local language; English language skill is an advantage.
· Basic education or adequate equivalent work/life experience;
· Experience with community development, working with children and schools.
· Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong Organizational skills.
· Advocacy and coordination skills.
· Ability to conduct outreach at the community level.
· Good computer skills (MS Office, including familiarity with internet).
· Personal Competencies: Collaborative spirit and ability to work independently as well as in a team; commitment to knowledge sharing and teamwork; positive attitude and ability to see through challenges to find solutions; and strong interpersonal skills and an ability to clearly communicate, including complex concepts into layperson language.
